We headed to the Black Canyon in Gunnison last week and it was spectacularly hot. See picture above. We were toying with the idea of camping next time, until a wasp flew out of our luggage back in Denver. We’ll file that idea on the backburner for a while.
If you’d told me 5 years ago, I’d be wearing a baseball hat and a bumbag simultaneously, I’d have laughed you out the door. But this is my pandemic attire. The no more burnt parting and a handsfree explorations kit.
My hair is impossibly fine and light as the sun. A gene that was filtered out in the Americas/ Southern Hemisphere to protect our scalps. I’m not made for the sun. I’m made for the chilly Nordic seas and furry hats. But here we are scaling canyons (not really), hiking the Rockies (sort of) and constantly exposed to the blaring sun.
Wear anything that brings you practicality. Shallow people judge by appearance. Wise people marvel at ingenuity. AKA bumbag and baseball cap.
What’s your pandemic attire?
